We had flown into Venice a few weeks earlier to catch a tour of the Dalmatian Coast. At the end of that tour we rented a Lancia Musa in Venice, with which we were planning to drive around in Austria and Italy. Our first destination was Schladming in Austria. We needed a few days to relax.

    From there we took the road to Bolzano, where we stayed for 2 days, before we left for Riomaggiore in Cinque Terre. In Cinque Terre we stayed for almost a week, exploring the little towns of the area, walking a lot uphill and downhill, before we drove back to Venice. Bother, there was also a lot of walking in Venice too, but this time mostly on flat terrain. That makes a huge difference. In either case, there is usually a café nearby for a coffee or a refreshing drink.
